Historic Registration | Member Responsibilities:
Procedure for Financial Members Continued Registration:
1. It is a member’s responsibility to remain financial at all times whilst on Historic Registration.
2. The club will not send out individual reminders for members on Historic Registration.
3. All members receive the magazine prior to the AGM which occurs in July. This is your notice/reminder for fee paying etc.
4. Fees need to be paid after the AGM meeting once the fee structure is verified by the Executive Committee.
5. Once fees have been paid, Historic Registration members need to present their proof of financial membership and produce the log book and registration papers for stamping and verification.
6. Books will not be processed unless accompanied by the current registration.
7. Books and registration papers will be processed up until grace period of 30 September.
8. Any member not paid up after 30 September will be considered non-financial.
9. Non-financial members with Historic Registration will have their names sent to the Registrar of Motor Vehicles and taken off the register after 30 September.
New Members Applying for Historic Registration:
• Interested parties must attend a meeting which occurs on the second Monday of each month.
• Fees must be paid, for a person to become a financial member.
• Once a financial member, Historic Registration may be applied for.
• Members must present their vehicle for inspection preferably at a club meeting or negotiate a time with one of the Authorisation Officers.
“The Federation believes any member of a recognised club should bring the vehicle to the Authorisation Officer at an agreed time and place via a day permit or transport by trailer or similar. The small cost involved is outweighed significantly by the savings between full registration and conditional registration as well as possible savings in insurance and stamp duty but this can be sorted at member/club level.”
(Taken from FHMC Club responsibilities.)
• Once satisfied that the vehicle is in an original state as per the guidelines from “The Code of Practice“, Authorisation Officers will fill in a Vehicle History Sheet with member’s name, address, vehicle details and issue the member with an MR334 form and any approved variations in the comments column.
• Members will take the MR334 to Transport SA to apply for Conditional Registration.
• Once the Conditional Registration has been approved a Log Book can be issued
• Log Books cannot be issued until approved registration papers have been stamped and verified by an Authorisation Officer.
• Cost of log books is currently $2.00.
What does the “Extension” mean on your rego sticker?
It means you can have your car on the road within 500m of the residential address on your rego papers without having to fill in the Log Book. This allows you, for example, to leave your car on the road whilst moving other cars in and out of your driveway and be legally covered.
Any questions or enquiries please contact one of our Historic Registration Officers: Owen Smith, Bob Wilkeson, Frank McHugh or Peter Papageorgiou.
